[Editor's note: This is a posing Ken Marrs made on his (now defunct) website (http://www.ourhouseusa.com/KenMarrs/News-Julom.htm) as retrieved on December 8, 2005. It would have been written sometime shortly after Julom's request for aid in escaping from assassins.] Jessy Julom was the former star evangelist of the Alliance Church on
Mindanao. He was converted to the truth about three years ago and has
since gone among that church and other denominations proclaiming with
gladness his newly found truth in the Gospel. Hundreds
of denominational preachers of various churches and thousands of the denominational
members have been converted. Many denominations have felt the loss
of their members (and often times property) to the gospel. Their answer
was to label the church a cult, but since that did not work they have
come together to resist Jessy and the church, and are now posing a most
serious threat to his life. You must realize that in the Filipino culture
murder is an option, and they do not hesitate to commit it. In another
portion of this website see a picture of a number of young men taken at
the Tuao prison I visited . These young men are all Christians today,
but it came too late to spare them a life in prison: They are also all
murderers. It is going to take $500.00 for Jessy to move from General Santos City, Mindanao to somewhere in the Visayas, but this is important and necessary for his personal safety. Jessy also has three brothers, two sisters and some nephews, all of whom were active in the Alliance Church. They too are now Christians, spreading the gospel and wreaking havoc among the denominations, but not to the extent that Jessy is. His sister in the Visayas has been threatened and harassed by a man demanding to know Jessy's whereabouts. I submit this that brethren may know and pray for our endangered brethren there. months later Julom is sending out letters, still in the same place
with no mention of hired killers.] |
